We help to get messages and materials to target audiences in locally adapted and culturally appropriate ways when a health disaster strikes, to enable them to make the right decisions.
COVID-19
COHEP supported COVID – 19 prevention efforts in 12 grassroot communities in Kupe-Muanenguba division in partnership with the South West delegation of public health and the Tombel health district. We promoted the key protective behaviors in local languages through educative talk, distributed flyers, and donated fabric face covers, washing soap, and hand sanitizers to more than 2000 participants which helped to reduce COVID spread in the division
Cholera
Cholera outbreaks are a frequent occurrence in the South West region where we are headquartered. Between March and May 2022, COHEP sensitized 6,512 children and adults in schools, markets, and treatment centers during an active outbreak, and distributed over 20.000 aqua tablets, washing soap and other WASH tools.
